Description
This is a chutney made of coconut, It is generally served with South Indian Delicacies.
Ingredients
- 1 coconut
- 1 sli ginger
- 1 green chili
- 6 curry leaves
- 1 T split gram (chana dal)
- 1 t mustard seeds
- 1 t refined oil
- 1 t salt (modify it to taste)
- 200 g curd
Instructions
This is a very simple recipe. One needs access to a food processor to really do this fast.
- Grate coconut and ginger
- Add grated coconut and ginger to a liquidizer
- Add curd to this mixture
- Add salt to this taste
- In a frying pan, put half teaspoon of oil and fry the green chili and chana dal, when dal turns brownish, add it to liquidizer
- Now mix these well in liquidizer till the time they become like a paste
- Put this paste into a bowl
- Now to prepare the tempering (tadka), add half teaspoon of oil in a small pan
- When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and curry leaves in it
- When mustard seeds stop crackling, add this mixture to the chutney in the bowl.
This chutney can be served with dishes like Idli, Dosa, Upma etc.
